Had a real close call with a hollow oak last month in Springfield

We were prepping to take down this big old oak, and the usual sound test with the mallet seemed fine. I mean, it sounded solid. But my gut said to drill a small pilot hole anyway, and the bit just went right in about two feet with no resistance. The whole center was completely rotted out. If we'd just gone by the sound, we would have set our rigging wrong for sure. Has anyone else had a tree pass the sound check but still be totally hollow inside?
