Was dead-set against using a multimeter for basic fridge diagnosis for years, thought it was overkill.

Finally caved after a compressor swap I did last March didn't fix the cooling issue and I wasted a full day checking switches by hand. First time I tested a start relay with the meter found a bad connection in 10 seconds. Has anyone else had a change of heart on a tool or method they used to write off?

Borrow that idea and run with it. Next time you're stuck on a no-cool call, grab the meter first and start checking the defrost components while you're at it. Saved me from pulling my hair out over a bad defrost heater that looked perfectly fine until I measured across it.

Used to skip defrost checks on no-cool calls, this changed my whole approach.
