Warning: A 30 year tech in Tulsa told me to quit replacing thermostats on Whirlpool dryers, and he was dead wrong
Called him after 3 dryers in 2 weeks came back with the same no heat complaint. He swore up and down the thermal fuse was the only fix and thermostats were a waste of money. I listened for a bit, swapped the fuse anyway, and all 3 came back within 6 weeks. Turns out the cycling thermostat was opening way too early and cooking the fuse. Anybody else deal with that old school advice that sounds right but bites you later?
