Unpopular opinion: people who think a fridge just needs more Freon are the funniest part of my week

Had a guy in Tampa insist his 12-year-old unit just needed a top-up, even after I showed him the compressor was completely seized. Anyone else get these calls daily?

Man, I heard a podcast where a tech said half his "low on freon" calls end up being a dead compressor or a major leak. It's wild how that idea sticks around. @tyler_hernandez is right, seeing one seized up really shows you it's never that simple. People just don't get that the gas doesn't just disappear on its own.
