TIL those sonic cleaners actually work for tricky parts

Honestly, I always thought those cheap ultrasonic cleaners were just a gimmick for jewelry, but I finally caved and grabbed one from Harbor Freight for $45 last month. Tried it on a gas range burner cap that was caked with years of baked-on grease, and it came out looking nearly new after just 8 minutes in the tank. Has anyone else found a weird appliance part that the sonic bath saved instead of replacing?

$45 Harbor Freight special here too, and the first thing I threw in was an old carburetor jet from a lawnmower that sat in the shed for 3 years. Came out spotless. It makes me think about how we replace so much stuff that just needs a deep clean, not a full replacement. Like we've been conditioned to think once its dirty or stuck its junk, but most of the time the gunk is doing the damage and not the part itself. That sonic bath just proves that a little bit of vibration and heat can undo years of neglect.

Omg YES I had the EXACT same thing happen with my oven burner caps! I was ready to toss them and spend $60 on new ones, threw them in my cheapo cleaner with some simple green and hot water, and they literally look brand new now. It's wild how good those things work on stuff you'd never think to put in there.
