Thought sealed burner grates were hype until I priced out a 1998 GE range for a customer in Tulsa
I always told customers the open coil burners on old ranges were fine and the sealed ones were just a way to charge more for labor. Then a woman on Cherry Street asked me to find replacement drip pans for a 1998 GE and the only set I could track down was $74 with shipping. I told her to put that toward a basic sealed top model instead, and six months later she called back just to say nothing had fallen under the burners yet. Am I the only one who switched sides on this, or do you still fight the open coil fight?
