Serious question, I stopped checking dryer vent temps by hand after a call in Mesa last month
I used to reach in and feel the exhaust air on every dryer call, and I trusted my hand for about six years. A customer in Mesa had a dryer that felt plenty warm to me, but the clothes still took two cycles, so I put a thermometer in the duct and it read 98 degrees. My hand had been telling me "warm enough" on machines that were just under spec the whole time. Now I stick a probe in the vent and write the number on the ticket, and it takes about 20 seconds. Does anyone here have a temp range they actually use for gas versus electric, or am I overthinking this?
