Old timer told me to use dielectric grease on every dishwasher connection, I laughed and skipped it, then had to tear the floor out 6 months later

Screamed reading this. My buddy did the same thing with a brand new Bosch dishwasher, thought dielectric grease was some old wive's tale. Six months later the water line connector corroded so bad it snapped clean off while he was at work. That little bit of green gunk would've saved him from replacing his entire subfloor and part of the kitchen cabinet. Just unreal how fast water finds a way to wreck everything if you skip one tiny step.

Wait, is dielectric grease actually necessary on dishwasher connections or is that more of a humid climate thing? I had no idea it could save you from that kind of disaster, terryrobinson. I skipped it on my old washing machine hookup and now I'm scared to check behind the machine after reading this.
