Old timer at a supply house told me I was using too much foam

I was grabbing some Great Stuff at the parts counter last Tuesday and this retired repair guy just comes up and says 'you're gonna swell that door frame shut'. He showed me how a pea sized dab is plenty for most fridge door seals. I had been laying a full bead around the whole thing like caulk. Been doing it that way for almost 2 years before he said something. Has anyone else been overdoing it on the insulation foam without realizing it?

What do you mean by that exactly - like are you talking about stuff you buy, or more about relationships or work? Because I've definitely been there with trying to cram too many side projects into my week and ending up burned out with nothing actually finished. With food it's the same way - I used to load up my plate until I couldn't move, thinking more was better value, but it just made me feel awful after. Curious if you have a specific area where this clicked for you.
