My multimeter was lying to me for 6 months on fridge compressor tests
Kept getting open line readings on a compressor that ran fine in the unit. Turns out my meter probes were too dull to pierce the pin corrosion. Anybody else run into false readings from beat up test leads?

Did you try licking the probes to see if that helped?
