Just realized I was overcomplicating ice maker solenoid checks

For years, I'd pull the whole unit out to test it with a multimeter, which took forever. Then a guy at a supply house in Tacoma told me to just listen for the click when it gets power. Tried it on a Samsung fridge last Tuesday and it took 30 seconds to confirm a bad board instead. Anyone else have a simple trick that saved them a ton of time on a common job?

Wait, you were pulling the whole unit out every time? That sounds like a nightmare. The click test is a lifesaver for sure.

Sometimes the easiest fix is just listening for the click.
