Caught a parts vendor pushing fake capacitors last week
I was getting capacitors for a fridge fix and the vendor's batch seemed wrong. Upon testing, they overheated and could have sparked a fire. I had to delay the job and explain the risk to the homeowner. Always test suspicious parts before installing.

Yeah, @shane_carr nailed it with the fire starter comment. What tipped you off that the batch was wrong before you even tested them?
