Almost set a washing machine on fire last Tuesday

I was swapping a control board on a 5 year old Samsung in a basement laundry room. I forgot to unplug the machine and my screwdriver slipped right into the main power line. There was a loud pop, a flash of blue light, and I smelled burning plastic for like 10 minutes. Had to replace the whole wiring harness after that, plus change my shorts. Anyone else ever electrocute themselves and keep working anyway?

Change my shorts" lol that got me good. But yeah I've been there too. Had a screwdriver slip while working on a live outlet and it felt like my whole arm went numb for a solid five minutes. I just stood there staring at the wall wondering if I was gonna have a heart attack. The smell of burnt dust and ozone is something you don't forget. I also kept working after because I was too stubborn to admit I messed up. Your story is way scarier though because at least mine didn't almost set anything on fire.

Did anyone else smell burnt toast after their shock or was that just me?
