A Frigidaire ice maker took me 4 hours to fix when it should've been 45 minutes

I was working on a Frigidaire model FFHS2611PF last Tuesday in Omaha, and the ice maker wasn't dumping. After checking the auger motor and the thermostat for 3 hours, I finally found the issue was a tiny piece of plastic stuck in the mold that stopped the ejector blades. Has anyone else run into random debris like that eating up your time on a simple fix?

Did you pull the whole auger assembly out? My buddy in Lincoln had the same thing happen on his Frigidaire last month. Found a broken plastic ice scoop wedge inside the mold from one of those party ice bags. Took him almost 5 hours before he spotted it with a flashlight.

Yeah nothing like finding a random hunk of plastic that has no business being there in the first place. I once spent two hours on a Whirlpool because a kid's hair clip fell into the ice bin and jammed the auger. At least with Frigidaire you know it's always something stupid like a broken scoop or a piece of the mold. Bet you felt real smart when you finally saw it though.
