That $80 countertop composter was a noisy paperweight by week 3
I bought one of those electric composters that claims to turn scraps into dirt in a few hours. Big mistake. It sounded like a blender full of rocks running for 4 hours straight, and my neighbor in 3B banged on the wall twice. Also, the finished product was still wet and chunky, nothing like the fluffy soil in the ads. I could have just used a 5 gallon bucket with a lid and some worms from the bait shop for like 20 bucks. Ended up donating it to a friend with a garage who can run it outside, but I'm still annoyed about the cash. Has anyone else tried an electric unit and gone back to the simple bucket method? I need to know I'm not the only one who fell for the marketing.
