My neighbor in 4B said my bokashi bucket was a biohazard, but his overflowing trash can in the hall is what actually smells.
He cornered me by the mailboxes last Tuesday and said, 'You're gonna attract rats with that science experiment,' which is funny because I've had my EM-bran system for 8 months with zero issues, while his bag of regular trash leaks mystery juice every Thursday.

Classic case of the pot calling the kettle black, isn't it. A properly sealed bokashi bucket shouldn't smell at all, while rotting food waste in a plastic bag is basically a rat welcome mat. Maybe he's just mad your system works and his doesn't. You should ask him if he wants a lesson in how to actually manage his trash.

Ha, well I'm the last person who should give trash advice... my first bokashi attempt smelled like a gym locker full of forgotten bananas. Turns out you actually have to press the lid down until it clicks, who knew? My neighbor probably thought I was brewing poison.
