My building manager saw my worm bin and said 'that's the quietest pet you'll ever have'
He was checking a smoke alarm in my unit in Chicago and spotted it, which made me realize how normal it can look. Has anyone else had a funny comment from a neighbor or visitor about their setup?

Remember the time my plumber saw my bokashi bucket and asked if I was making moonshine. Had to explain it was just fermented food scraps, not a backroom distillery. He looked so disappointed, like I'd crushed his dream of finding a secret bootlegger. Now he just nods at it like it's a normal kitchen appliance.

Did he at least offer to taste test it for you? That's honestly the best reaction I've ever heard to a compost bin. I'd be way more pumped to have a secret moonshine operation too. Poor guy just wanted some illegal hooch and got rotten veggies instead.
