I finally weighed my finished compost after six months in a five-gallon bucket
The scale showed just over two pounds of finished soil from a single bucket. I had no idea my kitchen scraps could make that much. It hit me that this is real dirt, made right in my living room, not just a pile of old food. Has anyone else been surprised by how much they actually get from a small setup?

That's a really cool result. What was the starting weight of your scraps before they broke down? I'm trying to figure out the shrink rate for my own bin.

Forgot to weigh them, which is pretty on brand for my scatterbrained composting efforts.
