Appreciation post: I kept seeing people say you need a huge bin for a balcony composter, but my 5-gallon bucket setup in my Chicago studio has been perfect for 8 months.

The key is drilling way more air holes than you think, like 30 small ones around the sides and bottom, because I tried a dozen at first and it just turned into a smelly mess until I added more.

Drill those extra holes, seriously. Learned that the hard way with my own bucket. A handful just doesn't cut it for airflow.
