Picked up a $4 brass button hook in Shipshewana and the seller showed me it's for boots, not buttons
She had me try it on a Victorian button boot she kept behind the counter and the hook slid the buttons through in one pull. Now I check every booth for them, anyone else find tools that turn out to do something totally different than you guessed?

Shipshewana has some sneaky good finds. Bought a "letter opener" there that turned out to be a fish scaler.

That place got me too, grabbed a "vintage ice cream scoop" last summer that was actually a melon baller. @gavin80 you ever figure out what half your finds really are or just roll with it?
