My $4 garage sale rotary phone rang at midnight, scared me half to death
Picked up this old Western Electric rotary phone at a yard sale in Boise for $4 last weekend. It was just for decoration, I figured, so I put it on my nightstand. About 2am I hear this loud mechanical ring and nearly jumped out of bed. Turns out the previous owner had it hardwired to an active line still, and the guy calling was a wrong number looking for a plumber. Anybody else had a thrift store gadget that was way more functional than they expected, or am I just cursed with working junk?
