Found a 1909 map that shows my street as farmland, then checked the tax records | Antique Store Finds

Picked up a county plat map at a flea market in Fayetteville for $8 and the property lines don't match anything current. The deed chain in the index goes back to a land grant from 1834, but I can't find any record of the house that's sitting on it now. Has anyone else chased down a property's history from an old map and found out the house isn't actually where the paperwork says it should be?
