Bought a $6 brass candle holder at a flea market in Tulsa, then saw the same one online for $45
Picked up a small brass candle holder at a flea market in Tulsa last Saturday for $6. The seller had a whole box of them and I almost walked past, but the weight felt solid so I grabbed one. Got home and looked it up, and the same piece is listed on a vintage resale site for $45. Turns out the stamp on the bottom is a mark from a closed brass works in Ohio. Anyone else run into this where the flea market price is way under what resellers want?
That stamp from a closed Ohio brass works is the real find there. Had a similar thing with a cast iron skillet I grabbed for $8 at a church sale, turned out it was an old Griswold and folks online were asking $200 and up. Never sold it though, still cooks eggs every morning. The flea market folks just want stuff gone, they don't care about the collector markup.
