Tried to trace a vanished railway line near Derry, found 4 village names instead

I was mapping an old 1890s railway that supposedly ran through the hills outside Derry, but the more I matched it to modern satellite shots, the more it zigzagged. I pulled up the 1901 Ordnance Survey sheet and the line wasn't even there, but four village names I'd never heard of, like Ballyknock and Tircar, were marked on a completely different route. Any idea if those places got absorbed into a bigger estate, or should I trust the older 1872 map over the 1901 one?
