Found a town on an 1800s map that just vanished, took me 4 evenings to track it down

I was tracing an old river route through Ohio for fun and this little place called 'New Lisbon' showed up on an 1847 county map but nothing on the 1860 one. Spent 4 evenings digging through old railroad records and land deeds before I found out it got renamed and then wiped out by a flood in 1853. Anyone else ever chase a ghost town that just disappeared between two map editions?
