Watched a subbed episode wrong for 6 months at an anime club meetup
Went to a local anime club meetup at the community center last Thursday. Someone put on a show I thought I'd seen all of. Turned out I'd been skipping the post-credits scene every single time. Missed a whole character arc because I clicked off too fast. Now I sit through every credits roll like it's homework. Anyone else find hidden scenes by accident later?

Did you check online to see if other people caught that scene right away, or did you just assume the ending was the credits? I had something similar happen with a show where the post-credits gag was the actual punchline to the whole episode, and I missed it for weeks. Feels like the industry does that on purpose now just to mess with us, doesn't it?

Laughed out loud when I read this because I literally did the exact same thing last week. I sat through the whole credits thinking that was it, then got up to grab my phone and missed the whole post-credits scene. My friends were like "did you see that part?" and I just stared at them like a deer in headlights. I definitely didn't check online first because I didn't even realize there was anything to check. Now I just assume every show has a hidden ending somewhere, even if it's just a blooper reel. Makes me feel like I'm the one who's slow, not the industry.

That whole "feels like the industry does that on purpose" thing you said really stuck with me. It's like how grocery stores move the milk to the back so you have to walk through everything first, or how every app has those tiny unsubscribe buttons hidden in a settings menu. We're all just getting trained to slow down and pay attention, otherwise we miss the actual point.
