Was ready to hate on that 'watch anime at 1.5x speed' advice, changed my mind
I saw someone on Reddit saying they watch slow-paced shows like Monogatari at 1.5x speed and I thought that was total blasphemy. Then I tried it on episode 4 of a 50-episode mecha series that had 3 minutes of staring at a sunset. I actually finished the arc without skipping any scenes and paid more attention. Has anyone else flipped on a watching habit they swore they'd never do?

Friend of mine swore by watching shows on 2x speed for years. Said it saved so much time. Then he tried to watch a slower drama at normal speed and realized he'd been missing half the emotional beats. Now he just picks his speed based on the show.

Honestly, is it really that deep though? Some shows just don't have that much emotional weight to miss. Stuff like action flicks or fast paced comedies, you're just there for the plot and the jokes, not some slow burn character moment. Ngl, if a show can't hold up at 2x speed, maybe it's just padding and you're not losing much.
