Warning: The MyAnimeList forums had a huge spoiler bot attack last Tuesday

Honestly, it was the worst week for anime talk I've seen in a while. From about 3 PM to 8 PM EST, a flood of bots posted major spoilers for the new episodes of Jujutsu Kaisen and Frieren in every discussion thread. The mods were swamped trying to delete them all, but a lot of people got stuff ruined. Has anyone else had their favorite show spoiled by something like this recently?

Actually, the worst part was how long it lasted. It was closer to a full 24 hours before they got it under control. The mods were deleting posts, but new bot accounts kept popping up. Makes you wonder who has that much free time to be that petty.

Ugh, that's actually messed up. It feels like these bot attacks are getting way more common and targeted lately. They don't just spam links anymore, they actively try to ruin the fun for everyone. I saw a similar thing happen on a gaming sub last month with story spoilers. It makes you scared to even open a forum the day a new episode drops. The mods are doing their best, but it's a total arms race against the people making these things. Really kills the whole community vibe when you have to dodge landmines just to talk about a show.
