Vent: Picked subbed over dubbed for this new mecha show

I had to choose between watching the subbed version with the original VAs or the dubbed one that had a big name actor attached, and I went with subs because I hate lip flap. Three episodes in and I'm constantly pausing to read text while missing fight scenes, and the story feels slower than it should be. Has anyone else regretted a sub vs dub choice this badly and switched mid-series?

...and that's basically the same thing as when I buy the generic brand of cereal thinking I'm making the smart choice, then three bites in I'm just staring at the fruit loops wishing I'd spent the extra dollar. You committed to subs for the "purity" of it, same as me buying store brand to save money, but now you're just annoyed every time a text box pops up. My buddy does the same thing with movies - picks the artsy foreign film to impress his date, then spends the whole time reading subtitles and misses the plot twist. Sometimes the popular choice is popular for a reason, you know? Might be time to just switch over and admit the big name actor dub is actually way more fun to watch.
