TIL subbing to a seasonal anime podcast actually changed my viewing habits

I used to just watch whatever was popular on Crunchyroll and drop half the shows by episode 3. Then I started listening to The Anime Weekly podcast from a recommendation on this board back in January. Hearing a host break down why a show like Orbital Children actually had good pacing made me stick with it when I would have quit. Has anyone else had a reviewer or podcast change how you watch something?

Started listening to the Fandom Post podcast a while back and it totally flipped how I watch isekai shows. Before I'd just roll my eyes at another generic fantasy world but one host made a point about how the little details in Reincarnated as a Slime actually build the world really well. Now I pay more attention to the economy systems and politics in those shows instead of just zoning out during the boring parts. Honestly its weird but I actually finished Ascendance of a Bookworm all the way through because of them. Ngl their enthusiasm for the slow burn pacing made me see why people enjoy that stuff.

Oh actually the host was talking about That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, not just "Reincarnated as a Slime" - its a small thing but those little details are exactly what makes it stand out from the rest. Did that podcast ever cover Log Horizon's take on online economies too?
