The shift in my anime club after we stopped letting new members pick shows
Our club used to let anyone suggest a series to watch each month, and it was a mess. Different tastes clashed hard, and we'd spend half the meeting arguing. About six months ago, I suggested we pull from a pre-voted list of classics instead. Now we actually finish episodes and talk about them instead of fighting over what to watch next. Has anyone else had to change how their group picks shows to keep the peace?

Oh man, I feel you. We had the same exact problem in our book club until we finally wised up and did the same thing.

Wait, did your group actually vote to kick someone out or just set a word count rule? Because we tried the same thing and it turned into a whole drama fest for two months before people started dropping like flies. Glad it worked for you guys though, that kind of structure really does help keep things moving.
