The shift in anime fan reactions over the last 5 years is wild

I remember back in 2019, people would actually discuss plot holes and character arcs without getting defensive. Now it feels like every new show gets either worshipped as a masterpiece or trashed as garbage within the first two episodes. Has anyone else noticed how the fanbase went from debating to outright fighting about everything?

Honestly I used to think people were just being dramatic about this. Then I saw the reaction to a show like Frieren - people were calling it perfect before the first cour even finished. Meanwhile stuff like Uzumaki gets written off entirely because of one bad episode. The internet just doesnt know how to have middle ground anymore. Everything has to be the best or the worst right away.
