Subbed anime vs dubbed. I was team dub until a bad translation ruined a whole scene for me.
Was watching the new season of that mecha show. Big emotional moment where the pilot screams at his dead friend. Dub said 'I'm sorry I failed you.' Subbed version said 'I'm sorry I couldn't save you.' Completely different weight. The sub hit way harder. Made me rethink 10 years of team dub.

That translation thing gets me too. The sub version of that line cuts way deeper. Good dubs are rare but when they miss the mark it really ruins everything.

Read this thing online about how some translators have to add or change whole lines just to match mouth movements in dubs. Ends up losing all the original meaning sometimes.
