Spent 6 months skipping character intros in every new anime I started

It hit me during episode 4 of some random slice-of-life show that I had no idea why anyone was upset about a broken vase, and that's when I realized skipping the first 3 minutes of each episode was like skipping the first layer of mulch - you miss all the foundation stuff and then wonder why nothing makes sense, has anyone else done this and then had to rewatch everything?

Rewatched 47 episodes before realizing I forgot the prologue exists.

Oh man, that is such a bummer. I've done similar stuff where I skipped a key intro scene. 47 episodes is a lot of rewatching, but at least the prologue probably made a few things click better for you later on.
