Speed reading manga makes you miss the whole point and I have proof from my own shelf
I timed myself last month reading the first 3 volumes of Berserk and finished in 2 hours flat, and I could not tell you a single panel that was not a big fight. Then I went back and read volume 1 again at a normal pace, like 45 minutes for one book, and the whole Golden Age setup hit me in a way it never did before. Same pages, totally different story, because I was treating it like a race. The thing is, people keep calling long series a grind, but the grind is your own fault at that point. Does anyone else track their reading pace, or am I the only weirdo with a stopwatch app open next to my volumes?
