Sat down for ep 1 of a hyped show at 9pm and by 9:20 I was scrubbing back to count background characters
I was on my couch in Dayton last Friday with a bowl of popcorn, ready to finally start this show everyone keeps yelling about. Around the 18 minute mark a fight scene started and I noticed two guys in the back row were literally the same drawing copy pasted, same pose, same face. That pulled me out so hard that I paused it and spent 20 minutes stepping frame by frame, and I counted 14 background characters that were just the main guy recolored. I even went back to the last episode and sure enough, the crowd at the market had the same thing. So I dropped a comment on a recap video pointing it out and got like 40 replies, half saying it's normal for a weekly budget and half saying I'm nitpicking. Now I can't stop checking crowds in every show I watch. Does noticing lazy background art ever ruin a good story for you too, or do you just train your eyes to skip it?

The "same drawing copy pasted" thing drives me nuts too, once you see it you can't unsee it. I did the exact same frame by frame pause thing on a show last year and my roommate thought I was losing it. It doesn't fully ruin a story for me but it definitely yanks me out of the moment every single time.
