PSA: That $15 crunchyroll subscription paid off when I finally watched Vinland Saga

I kept putting off getting a subscription cause I thought I'd just watch free stuff. But I finally caved last month and bought the basic plan for $15. I binged Vinland Saga in like a week and it blew my mind. Anyone else have a cheap streaming service that totally hooked you?

My sister actually convinced me to get a Crunchyroll subscription when she came over to visit. She showed me this anime called Frieren and I was hooked after the first episode. So I paid the $15 and ended up watching all of Frieren in three days. Then I stumbled onto Mob Psycho 100 and that was a whole other rabbit hole. Now I'm stuck paying for it because there's always something new to watch. I don't even mind spending the money anymore since it keeps me from doom scrolling on social media.

Don't you ever get a little annoyed that you're basically locked in now because they keep adding stuff you want to watch? I mean, I get that it beats doom scrolling, but paying every month just because you can't break the cycle feels a bit like a trap. Sometimes I think it's healthier to just watch whatever's free and not feel like you're wasting money if you skip a week.
