Picked dubs over subs for the first time after 8 years, no regrets yet
I always watched subbed anime, even through high school and college. But this weekend I was dead tired from work and just wanted something easy, so I hit play on the English dub for a new show I picked up. Got through 5 episodes and honestly followed the story way better than I thought I would. The voice acting for the side characters is actually pretty solid, not like the old dubs I remember avoiding. Has anyone else switched sides late and ended up liking it more than they expected?

Man same thing happened to me last year. I put on the dub for some show I can't even remember now because I was half asleep and it just clicked. The voice actors these days actually match the energy of the original instead of sounding like they're reading lines in a robot voice. I switch back and forth now depending on my mood, and I've rewatched a couple of my old favorites dubbed just to see what I missed.
