Just realized I've been watching dubs wrong for like 10 years

I used to always watch dubbed anime while scrolling my phone (you know, multitasking). But last month I forced myself to watch Attack on Titan season 2 with subs only and no phone. I caught so many background details and voice actor performances I straight up missed before. Has anyone else had that moment where switching formats changed the whole show for you?

Honestly I zone out more with subs staring at the bottom of the screen than I ever did on my phone.

Zoning out with subs is real though, I feel like I'm speed reading the whole episode sometimes.
