I finally figured out why I hate 90% of seasonal anime, and it was my own fault
Been watching anime for about 11 years now. Started back in 2014 with the usual stuff everyone starts with. For the longest time I would drop shows after 2 or 3 episodes and blame the show. Then last month I was rewatching an older series I loved and it hit me. I was watching everything at 1.5x speed on my phone while scrolling reddit. No wonder nothing landed. I sat down and watched one new show at normal speed on the TV with my phone in the other room. Completely different experience. The pacing actually worked. The quiet scenes hit. I felt dumb. Now I want to know if anyone else fell into the speed watching trap and how you got out of it, because I have like 30 dropped shows from 2022 I probably owe another shot.
Went through the same thing and honestly the speed watching was covering up the real problem, which was that I wasn't giving anything a fair shot because I was scared of wasting time. Try picking just three of those 2022 shows and doing the phone in the other room thing, but put the ones you were most excited about first so you actually want to pay attention.
