Hot take: skipping the first 3 episodes of filler anime is a cheat code for pacing

I got stuck on a 200-episode shonen series last month and almost quit because the pacing was killing me... then a buddy told me to just skip all the non-canon filler arcs. I tried it on episode 47 and suddenly the story actually flowed. Has anyone else found that one trick that makes a bloated anime watchable?

Used to be a purist about watching everything, but skipping filler legit changed my whole view.

Skipping episodes means you're trusting someone else's judgment over your own experience, and that feels like cheating yourself out of the full picture. Some of those "filler" episodes end up having tiny character moments that pay off huge later, or at least give you a breather between intense arcs. You might save time now, but you're also missing the rhythm the creators actually built the show around.
