Can we talk about how everyone rates anime by episode count and not by where the story actually ends?
I saw a post last week ranking 40 shows purely by how many episodes they had, and the top pick was a 200 episode shonen that drags for 60 of them. This matters because new fans keep picking shows based on length thinking more episodes means more story. I tracked my own watch list from January to March and 7 of the 9 shows I loved were 12 or 13 episodes. A friend in Denver dropped a 150 episode series at episode 22 because she thought quitting meant she failed at anime. That is backwards, the episode count is a budget number, not a quality number. What is the shortest show you would put above a long running one?
