A friend told me I was watching anime wrong - she was right about skipping filler

Last month my friend Sarah called me out for watching Naruto Shippuden with all 500 episodes including filler. She said I was burning 80 hours on stuff that doesn't matter. I looked it up and she was right - there's like 90 filler episodes in Shippuden alone. So I finally used a filler guide and skipped all of it. Caught up in 3 weeks instead of 6 months. Has anyone else had a friend correct their anime watching habits and turn out to be right?

Did you regret skipping any of the good filler arcs?

Read somewhere that even the original manga writer didn't write those filler arcs so it's basically just fan fiction with extra steps. Skipping them sounds way better honestly you saved so much time.
