Unpopular opinion: twist-on B connectors belong in the trash, Wago levers saved my sanity on a 22 zone panel
I used to swear by twist-on connectors for every splice in a can. Then I took on a 22 zone panel job in a house up in Bakersfield and spent two full days chasing a ground fault that turned out to be one loose wire nut on a zone leg. Swapped the whole panel over to Wago 221 lever nuts and the callbacks basically stopped. The lever clamps down on the copper with even pressure, so you can't under tighten it, and you can see right through the housing that the wire is seated. On service calls now I pop one open in about two seconds with a small screwdriver, no untwisting and no nicked copper. They cost more per unit, sure, but one truck roll eats that difference fast. Anyone else made the switch, or am I the only one who got burned enough times to care?
