Tried running sensor wires through return air ducts to save time and it actually worked
Had a job last week in a 3 story office building in Austin where the ceilings were all finished drywall. Was dreading fishing wires through walls for the motion sensors on the top floor. My helper joked we should just drop them through the HVAC return grilles. Honestly I laughed at first but then I looked at the duct layout and realized there was a straight shot from the return plenum to the panel room. Ran 4 zones through a flex duct using a glow rod with a magnetic tip. Took maybe 20 minutes total instead of 3 hours cutting drywall. Anyone else ever used HVAC as a raceway? Any code issues I should worry about?

Bro that's a fire marshal speedrun if I ever saw one lol. Nah fr though, if the inspector ever sees that you're gonna be the one explaining why your sensors are venting into the plenum.

Agree with @emmajackson man, seen the same thing go down at a buddy's warehouse last month and it was a mess.
