Took me 6 hours to fix a false alarm loop on a DSC panel last Tuesday
I had a customer in Austin whose system kept going off at 3 AM for no reason. Turned out a rusty reed switch on a basement door was sending intermittent signals that the panel interpreted as a valid opening. Has anyone else spent that long chasing a ghost problem like this?

Rusty reed switch in a basement door" sounds like the villain in a low-budget horror movie. At least you didn't have to exorcise the thing.

Man I had an old sump pump switch that did the same thing, creepy clicking sounds all night long.
