TIL that cheaping out on sensors cost me a callback nightmare

A buddy of mine who's been in the trade for 15 years told me to never buy those no-name wireless sensors off Amazon. I thought he was just being picky, so I grabbed a 12-pack for $40 to save a client some cash on a job in Albany. Fast forward 3 weeks, and 4 of them started false alarming every time a truck went by on the street. I spent 4 hours driving back and forth swapping them out, plus the client was pissed and almost canceled the contract. That $40 savings cost me about $200 in gas and lost time. Now I only use the Honeywell or DSC stuff, even if it's double the price. Has anyone else had junk sensors screw up a big install like that?

Oh come on, a few false alarms isn't that big of a deal. You probably could have just swapped the batteries or something, saved yourself the headache.

False alarms are still a pain though, right?
