Switched from 3M double-sided to the cheap stuff on door sensors
Ran a 24-hour test after swapping to generic tape and the first sensor fell off before lunch. Anyone else have customers complain about sticky residue with the cheap stuff?

Ngl that's rough. I've been there, tried the generic stuff from the hardware store to save a few bucks and had three sensors pop off in one night. The residue left behind is a nightmare too, like some kind of sticky glue that just smears everywhere and won't come off with goo gone. Honestly it's just not worth the headache even if the name brand costs double.

idk I mean it kind of depends on what you're putting on and where. @drew805 I've used the cheap dollar store double sided tape before and yeah some of it is junk but I had one roll that lasted like six months no problem. maybe it was just a lucky batch or something but I feel like people overhype how bad the generic stuff is. like sure if you're mounting something heavy or outside in the rain then yeah don't cheap out but for indoor stuff it's usually fine. I've also found that rubbing alcohol works way better than goo gone for getting that sticky residue off if you ever need to try that instead.
