Spent 2 hours chasing a ground fault before I checked my own splice in the attic
I was convinced the panel was bad and swapped it out, but the real problem was a wire nut I twisted on 6 months ago that finally worked loose up in the attic heat. Now I tug every splice before I close up a wall, and it has saved me at least 3 callbacks. What is your go to trick for catching bad splices before they bite you later?
Man, I feel this one. I had a neutral that looked tight but was barely holding on behind a receptacle, and it cooked the outlet a month later. Now I give every splice a good hard pull before the drywall goes back up.
