Pro tip: I quit drilling pilot holes for my magnetic contacts and my install time dropped by 20 minutes a house
I used to spend forever trying to line up the switch and magnet just right on steel doors, and half the time the gap was still too wide. Then a guy in Tucson showed me a trick with a strip of double sided tape to hold the contact in place while I check the gap with the door closed first. Now I mark, stick, test, then screw, and I haven't had a false alarm call back in 4 months. Anybody else got a setup trick that shaved real time off their days?
